Just 15 minutes from the heart of Bundaberg and a half day trip (4 hours drive) north of Brisbane, is the gorgeous area of Bargara Beach.

The 6km main coastal road “The Esplanade” takes you on a stunning waterfront journey starting from Kelly’s Beach at the southern end to Neilson's Beach at the north, which offers a picturesque waterfront area with soaring palm trees and sublime ocean vistas perfect for family BBQs or picnics.

There are a selection of waterfront eateries offering great alfresco dining, beautiful parks and recreational areas, and an artificial reef ensuring you can enjoy good fishing all year round. With easy access to the deep water of the Burnett River, first class services and marinas, this area is definitely a “boaties" paradise.

Grab your snorkel and flippers and head to Woongarra Marine Park for fantastic snorkelling, tee off at the local golf course or gather the gang for a fun afternoon of lawn bowls, followed by a glass of cold beer.

The Bargara area is serviced by Bundaberg buses Monday to Saturday and also has a taxi service through to the weekends. The popular Tilt Train service will also get you to Bundaberg or Brisbane whenever you get the urge.

+ Bargara is a comfortable 4 hour drive north from Brisbane (360kms), 3 hours north from the Sunshine Coast and 3 hours south of Rockhampton.
+ Queensland Rail provide many rail alternatives with the popular Tilt Train servicing Bundaberg twice per day from Brisbane. Travelling time is approx. 4 hours.
+ Daily services from Brisbane will have you on the Coral Coast under 1 hour.
+ Easy access to the deep water of the Burnett River and first class services and marinas makes this area a boaties paradise. The Port of Bundaberg is a perfect stopping point on passage along the Queensland Coast.

+ Don’t miss our award winning “Turtle Tracks” playground for the kids, Foreshore Boardwalks, Nielsen’s Beach (our surfing beach), and Kellys Beach with the “Basin” swimming area, a man-made rock surrounded swimming area which is great for families. Ask a local how it was made!
+ Take a short drive to picturesque Elliott Heads, Coral Cove International Resort and Golf Course, relaxing Innes Park onto Mon Repos then Burnett Heads at the mouth of the Burnett River
+ There are two 18 hole Gold courses along the Coral Coast. The Bargara Golf Club is right in the centre of Bargara and the Coral Cove Golf Club offers ocean side golf greens with spectacular oceanfront views. The Innes Park Par 3 Golf Club is also close by.
